Fashion Illustrator and Flat Sketch Artist

Panayiota is seeking a skilled and experienced Fashion Illustrator and Flat Sketch Artist to collaborate with us on an ongoing basis for all our garment projects. We are in search of a talented professional who can work seamlessly with the Creative Director to translate ideas and visions into comprehensive sketches, illustrations, and technical flat sketches. This role is fundamental in conceptualizing and portraying our apparel designs, significantly contributing to Panayiota’s aesthetics and market success.

Responsibilities:

– Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to understand and interpret fashion ideas and visions. Provide insights and illustrated concepts during the design brainstorming sessions
– Create detailed sketches, drawings, and illustrations of apparel and accessories using traditional and digital mediums.
– Convert initial sketches and ideas into polished illustrations that depict the desired style, material, and color of the items.
– Generate precise technical flat sketches that accurately depict garment construction and details for the production team.
– Participate in meetings with the Creative Director and design team to discuss progress, revisions, and updates on the illustrations and sketches.
– Stay updated with the latest fashion trends and integration of fashion-forward thinking into the illustrations.
– Ensure all artwork produced adheres to the aesthetic and quality standards of our brand.
– Ensure that all flat skletches accurately represent the technical aspects of garment construction.
– Adhere to deadlines, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality, ensuring projects stay on schedule.

Requirements:

– Proven experience as a Fashion Illustrator, Flat Sketch Artist, or similar role in the fashion industry.
– A comprehensive portfolio showcasing a solid background in sketching, drawing, illustrating, and creating technical flat sketches, preferably within the fashion sector.
– Proficiency in traditional drawing techniques along with digital illustration software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
– Ability to interpret and execute creative visions with acute attention to detail, while also understanding the technical requirements of garment construction.
– Familiarity with the latest fashion trends and a strong understanding of materials, textures, and colors.
– Excellent communication skills to articulate ideas and collaborate effectively with the Creative Director and design teams.

Compensation:

– The compensation structure for this position is based on a per garment rate, which will be discussed further during the interview process.
