Writer for Directory of Activities with Young Children
Project detail
Book: How to Keep Young Kids Busy and Off the Screen (First in a series)
E-book. Parenting/Directory. Non-fiction.
$1,000 paid in 5 instalments. (Looking for ongoing relationship for the series)
I am looking for a talented writer to research and create a comprehensive directory of ideas for activities with young children. The directory will be titled ‘How to Keep Young Kids Busy and Off the Screen’ and will serve as a go-to resource for parents and caregivers looking for fun and engaging activities to keep their kids entertained. The writer will be responsible for conducting thorough research, organizing the ideas into categories (as per the outline), and writing concise and informative descriptions for each activity. This project requires creativity, strong writing skills, and knowledge of age-appropriate activities for young children.
There is also some coverage of the benefits of a variety of play for young children’s development and well-being, as well as the detrimental effects of screen time (both to be backed up by research). The latter should be expressed in a supportive way.
The book’s aim is to help parents in a very practical way, so the directory should be well-organised and presented, and easy to read.

I am UK based. Due to my day-job (teacher) I am unable to check emails immediately. However, I’m happy to schedule times during the week when I’ll always be available for chats online/zoom/phone.
If you are interested in this, I would love to hear from you!
Please send a sample with 200-300 words, to read like a page from the directory (listing a few activities), somewhere within in the toddler section.
Please also state why you’re a good fit for this job.
Many thanks in advance. I look forward to hearing from you!
